Pope's visit to America

We are about to film a TV program on the Pope's visit to America. President Bush, in his welcome speech, referred to Benedict XVI as the "Holy Father" who sits on "the chair of Saint Peter." Is anyone concerned about this? I would be interested in some comments.... Steve

Aaron's Gravatar President bush repeatedly said, "we need your message." What I found to be of great concern to me is the fact that prior to his final "we need your message" statement he painted the idea of individual liberty as an evil and pointed to the Pope's view of liberty as the answer.

Joe Vereen's Gravatar Protestant preachers no longer know who the pope represents. Consequently their congregations do not know who he is either. Then there is the overwhelming dispensational model that few really understand in depth, but the surface is enough to allow them to remain aloof from history. President Bush, I understand, was a convert of Mr. Billy Graham. I am not sure he understands the implications of the Catholic system.

Joe Padovano's Gravatar These issues about the pope are just a portion of what is happening in the world. We all know this! Just this month (May) in
California I heard that gay marriage was OK'd by the California Supreme Court, against the voted wishes of the people. What
can we say? Praise God for giving us spiritual understanding and wisdom. I know you will keep blowing the trumpet, calling
all to repentence and pointing out the error, lies and propaganda presented by the enemy of God's people. God bless your
ministry!

Alta Wolf's Gravatar President Bush is far more knowledgeable than many give him credit for. He was
was using diplomacy in dealing with a figure that is important to millions and
controls that millions. Those followers did indeed need his message because
that church is facing the same liberalization problems the rest of the churches are
are.

Terry Alday's Gravatar Looks like it's possible President Bush may convert to Catholicism!
It makes sense; Brother Jeb is a Catholic, and his good friend Tony Blair
became Catholic in a very public way!

Terry Alday's Gravatar Gee, I never thought of Peter having a "Roman" title! : )

Anyway, here's an interesting happening:

The Obama campaign plans to continue Bush's "faith-based initiative"
program but will add a "means-test" to be approved for the program;
"support some ability to hire and fire based on faith" !!!

Employment and use of federal funds based on your faith !?! How's that for secular power and church power uniting ?

Jonathan's Gravatar Steve,

I have been reading and listening to what you have to say over the past
four years. I am very concerned about not only the way that President Bush
reacted to the pope's visit but the rest of America as well including the media.
It was all over the news. I watched a small portion of his mass in Yankee stadium
I think it was. It was very disturbing in the fact that he was being reverenced
as though he was God. I enjoy your books, and look forward to more on this
subject.

Terry's Gravatar "Pope seeks accord with Muslims",

The Pope said; "Dear friends, let us unite our efforts, animated by good will,
in order to overcome all misunderstanding and disagreements," the German
-born pontiff said in a speech to a delegation from the Middle East, Africa,
Asia and Western countries, who had an audience with Benedict in the
Apostolic Palace.

... In Saudi Arabia, Christian symbols are prohibited and Muslims who convert to Christianity face the death penalty.

Ibrahim Kalin, spokesman for the Muslim delegation and an assistant professor at Georgetown University, said in reply that the plight of Christians in the Middle East was "a very small genocide" compared with the killings of Muslims in the Bosnian war in the early 1990s.

Mr. Kalin said Iraqi Christians were the victims of "American and Israeli pressure" and the invasion of Iraq.

-is this, "running with the devil"? - Terry
